Our Story, Without the Fluff
No gimmicks. No “we do it all” promises. At Douglas Fur Pets, we stick to what we do best — small, safe, and seriously fun group walks your dog will lose their mind over (in the best way). Think forest trails, sandy beaches, and plenty of time to run, sniff, and explore.
Founded in July 2020 by Lucian and Nick, we brought our combined years of experience (and more than a little stubborn determination) to build a dog walking service that’s reliable, trustworthy, and unlike anything else in Vancouver.
We keep it simple: reliable schedules, trusted walkers, and dogs that come home happy, tired, and fulfilled. No chaos, no cutting corners — just real walks with real care.
As an indigenous (Métis) and LGBTQ+ owned business, we believe in respect, inclusion, and giving every dog the attention they deserve. Every pup in our crew is more than just a client — they’re part of the family.
If you want your dog to have the best part of their day while you handle yours, you’re in the right place.

These Are the People Your Dog Would Swipe Right On
We don’t hand just anyone a leash. Every walker at Douglas Fur Pets is trained up, safety-certified, dog-behavior savvy, and first-aid ready. They’ve been background-checked, tested, and proven to give your dog the kind of care we’d want for our own. We set the bar high then keep raising it because your dog deserves nothing less.

Lucian
The Boss
pronouns : They/Them
Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Lucian eventually traded prairie skies for the West Coast and hasn’t looked back. With over 26 years in the pet industry, they’ve worn just about every hat there is, from retail pet care and vet clinics to grooming and boarding. If it involves animals, Lucian has likely been in the middle of it and probably has a story to tell. At Douglas Fur Pets, Lucian handles the behind the scenes work that keeps everything running smoothly. From client communication and scheduling to safety protocols and long term planning, they make sure the details are covered so the dogs can simply enjoy their adventures. Outside of work, Lucian enjoys gaming, camping trips, gardening, and creative projects that keep their hands and mind busy. At the heart of it all, their mission remains the same: making life better and more fun for dogs and the humans who love them.

Finnegan
The Diva
pronouns : Good/Boy
Finnegan joined the family just before we started Douglas Fur Pets, with big dreams of being a group walk regular. He does make the occasional cameo, but as a reactive guy, he prefers to pick his moments. His true loves? Camping trips, exploring new places, frisbees, balls, swimming, and herding anything that even vaguely resembles a sheep — bikes, scooters, small children… you name it.

Nick
The Muscle
pronouns : He/Him
If you’ve heard of Douglas Fur Pets, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of Nick. He’s the guy who can (and will) strike up a conversation with anyone — human or dog. Friendly, approachable, and genuinely caring, Nick has a knack for making both pups and people feel like they’ve known him forever. A born-and-raised 4th generation Vancouverite, Nick grew up surrounded by animals and never stopped wanting to learn more about them. He spent a year shadowing a seasoned dog walker before stepping fully into the role, bringing patience, experience, and a sense of humor to every group walk. When he’s not out with the dogs, you’ll probably find him collecting trinkets and shiny things like a crow, playing guitar, making art, or getting lost in a crossword or sudoku puzzle. And yes — if your dog offers kisses, he’s already leaning in.
